This year's showhouse at West Coast Green is a 1700 square foot, two-story home with a name: Harbinger House. (Harbinger: something that allows us to see the future; a foretelling; a symbolic event or bridge.)
Designed by the Lawrence Group, the house is composed of reused shipping containers but looks like a modernistic home one might find in any number of large cities.
The interior was designed by Ecofabulous, and the house garden and landscape by Sprout Studio and Gardens.
[Walk through the interior; and also learn about the landscaping.]
Constructed on the tradeshow floor, the building will be de-constructed at the end of the conference – but not until thousands of people have walked through it, photographed it, and gone home thinking about the potential of reclaimed materials in a whole new way.
