Sarah Susanka, author of The Not So Big House and The Not So Big Life, spoke to a jammed session room full of West Coast Green-ers this afternoon. She introduced and explained the concept of Sacred Geometry, gave a practical lesson in Platonic solids, and connected this element of design practice to the pursuit of sustainability.
For those who think in 3 dimensions (many architects, designers, builders, engineers and artists), this was a light-your-hair-on-fire exciting presentation. Listener's scribbled down four follow-up recommendations Susanka made:
- Michael Schneider's book, Beginner's Guide to Constructing the Universe
- Robert Lawler's book, Sacred Geometry
- Educational toy Zome, from Zomeworks
- Flatland - the Movie
