David Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Foundation and host of the television program The Nature of Things, is a grand-daddy of the green building movement.
Suzuki gave a keynote address Friday morning at West Coast Green that brought the audience to its feet. Suzuki's presentation wove together personal vignettes and peer-reviewed scientific data, humor with a deadly serious sense of urgency, politics with reason.
In conversation forums and halls of the Convention Center, his words kept being discussed by participants throughout the remainder of the conference. They resonated with many, including (perhaps especially) some of the tribal members attending.
