Al Gore Rocks West Coast Green

As expected, a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Civic Auditorium in San Jose greeted former Vice President and Nobel laureate Al Gore with a standing ovation before and after his timely speech. His presence drew full-conference attendees of West Coast Green, but also Bay Area locals able to attend just this highlight of the three-day event.

Gore's speech touched on themes that recurred throughout the presentations by the conference's dozens of notable speakers. For instance, he gave a brief summary of the right relation between economics and ecology, and a succint explanation of how modern economics is harmfully used to externalize the environmental consequences of business decisions.

After covering a variety of related topics (without delving too deeply into any one), Gore outlined the four parts of his recovery plan, or critical steps to address the climate crisis and related urgent challenges of our day.
